Okay, so I’ll start at the beginning, well, 18 months ago. I moved to Bristol from Derbyshire to live with my partner. I’m a home bird so this was a big step for me. As time went on I began to settle down, make friends and almost feel at home.
Then March 2020 came around and dropped a little bombshell on me called Endometriosis (although not yet had a diagnosis confirmed by surgery). I was suddenly struck with severe abdominal pain, dizziness and fatigue along with looking about 6 months pregnant. Along with my reproductive system deciding to wage war on me, good old ‘Rona struck and it became very hard to see doctors. I had the classic 101 pregnancy tests done along with being told it was just a bad period multiple times. Shortly after, i was furloughed which gave me time to notice my symptoms and how regular they were becoming along with calling the doctors 3 times a week for painkillers.
I went back to work in early July and boy did the fatigue hit me! I was having naps left, right and centre together with it taking every over the counter drug possible. Real life became very difficult for me and took all my social time away. I could no longer stay out of the house all day or go anywhere spontaneously.
By August I felt so drained and in pain constantly that i was living off Codeine and being sent home ill twice a week. This is when me and my partner came to the realisation that I needed to be looked after and unfortunately he wasn’t able to do that due to work commitments. I always knew going back to my parents was an option but I didn’t want to admit defeat. Eventually my partner made me realise that I needed to look after my health first and foremost and that my parents could help me with that. So it was settled, I was moving back to the ‘shire!
