So, I said I’d let you know what I’m taking to the hospital when I go for my surgery tomorrow and here’s my list!
– A pair of button up pjs because lifting my arms up could be difficult after surgery because of the incisions.
– A button up nightie and my heat pad leggings from imfine attire (they have a pocket in the front and look like maternity leggings) for going in to the hospital.
– A book to keep me busy.
– Headphones.
– My iPad, to distract me.
– Fluffy socks to keep my feet warm.
– Slippers for walking in and out of hospital.
– Dressing gown, again to keep me cosy.
– Men’s boxers and comfy underwear, just so nothing is tight on my stomach.
– My Yuyu hot water bottle, which can be tied around your waist.
– Forehead cooling strips as one of my symptoms is headaches.
– A ziplock bag to put all my jewellery in so I don’t have to leave it off for too long (belly bar, nose piercing)
-All of my toiletries such as face wash and my toothbrush etc. Just in case I have to stay in over night.
– Period pads because you can get some bleeding afterwards.
– All my normal medications.
– Wind settler tablets for the bloating.
– And of course, a phone charger!
I know the list is super long but I know it could help someone and I had to pinch ideas from other people as to what I needed to take because I’ve never had this kind of surgery before. I’m a little nervous for tomorrow but I’ve been trying to take my mind of it by keeping busy although self isolating has made that quite difficult.
Can’t wait to update you once I’m out of hospital.
Grace x
